Applied AI · Conversational AI

Answers from your own knowledge, not made up.

A chatbot that invents answers is worse than none. We build conversational assistants grounded in your actual content, such as benefits, documentation, policies and product data, using retrieval so every answer traces back to your material. Embedded in your site, so it feels built in rather than bolted on.

Talk through an assistant

How it works

Grounded in your content, by design.

The technique is retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG if you’ve heard the term. In plain language: before the assistant answers, it looks up the relevant material in your own documents and answers from that, instead of from whatever a model happened to absorb in training. That’s the difference between an assistant that’s useful and one that confidently makes things up.

We’ve been building conversational systems since the Dialogflow era, well before the current wave, so we know where these break and how to keep them reliable.

Proof

A real example.

Employees have questions about their medical, retirement and other benefits. The answers are on their employer’s benefits site and in the plan documents, and people rarely find them.

Through our agency partners, we’ve deployed dozens of AI benefits assistants for employers, including a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company. Each one answers from that employer’s own content, in the employer’s own terms, and links to its sources. Employees get an answer in seconds instead of digging for it.

We also build the retrieval ourselves when a product calls for it. The AI sommelier in VinoSeeker answers from the app’s own wine data.

Honest framing

When a chatbot is right, and when it isn’t.

A grounded assistant is the right tool when people need answers out of a pile of content. It’s the wrong tool when a simple search box or a well-organized page would do.

It’s also the wrong tool when the real need is for AI to take actions in your systems rather than answer questions. That’s closer to our MCP integration work. We’ll point you to whichever actually fits.
